I recently bought one of these. Supposively it was part of Bannerman's surplus, which is a really cool story if you havn't read about it. Anyways my google fu has run weak and i can not find how these got their names. I know Jefferson Davis was the president of C.S.A. but nothing else about the pins. Would like more info on the pins and how they got their name. thanks...........

Sorry it took so long to get back.....The book is by Howard R. Crouch entitled Civil War Artifacts...A Guide for the Historian.Gotta get one :thumbsup:
