Civil war pistol bullet?

Just found this at a spot I find mineballs and such because it was once a union encampment. Is it a pistol bullet?

Smith and Wesson designed the 32 rimfire in 1860 and it was produced by different manufacturers until 1941. For a better ID you might try posting it in the "What Is It" forum. Give a length as well for correct ID. Good luck with it and good providence on your next hunt.

McKee & Mason #505 looks very similar to your bullet. Its diameter is actually .319 and is listed as a Colt pattern used by both sides.
