Dug this from yard this afternoon. Reads on back....."D Evans Co., No. Attleboro Mass".

Searched and found many Civil War buttons from Co., but not from North Attleboro, and not same design.

There was a thread on Treasurenet, but again not same button. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/w...tton-metal-specialties-co-attleboro-mass.html

Anyone have info on this one?

Found in Northern Illinois:icon_scratch:

Thanks for looking.

It is a "Great Seal" button. The Great Seal was introduced in 1901 and a rim was added in 1910. D Evans was in business from 1848-1945. So, your button, with the rim, would date from 1910-1945.
