The writing on it states Gail M. Fry, 15 1A CAV, TROOP B or 8

Looks like post war GAR pendant, very cool , I'd like to see it cleaned up a bit when and if you do.

Does look more like a tag now and not GAR... but danged if I cant find anything about the previous owner. Troop B is throwing me. I am sure one of the super sleuths here on tnet will nail it though.

Thanks for ur help, I did find a 1st Iowa cav , national guard from Iowa was stationed at camp Cody and I'm thinking it tag made by a soldier

Is the Metal Pewter, Zinc , Aluminum ?
I'd put it on the What is it Forum , but it reads like you may have ID it.
