Found this recently at a CW battle site. Appears to be some sort of Sharps variant, but I can't nail down the exact type. I assume there wasn't a lot of quality control in those times, so there are probably subtleties in all the different bullet types. I have been looking at this site and it seems to have a lot of good information.

American Civil War Bullet and Relic Collecting Association

Here are some pics and general info. I don't have a micrometer, so I had to eyeball with a tape measure.

Weight: 462 grains (29.99 grams)
Length: Very close to 1"
Diameter: Very close to .50" (.52 Cal?)

It's pretty worn, so that might make an exact ID tough. The Richmond Labs look somewhat close.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys! Is the Richmond Labs Sharps a Confederate, Union or possibly both?

Have you found many Richmond Sharpe's in the ATL Metro?

I got 1 Dropped a few years ago & that's it.

Never found one around here, actually yours is the first I have heard of. Good find!
