Some folks like to use salt and vinegar, or chemicals like lime away to clean their dug nickels. I like mine to look like they were dug, but I want to enhance the detail as much as possible. This is the best method to enhance the details while still keeping the "dug" look. And of course, you can try more aggressive methods later on if you wish.
