Nothing too exciting, but today's box of dimes during my lunch hour yielded four silver Roosies, including a brilliant uncirculated 1948S. I rim check the dimes so when I saw the wide silver rim with crisp reeds I was first thinking a BU '64 or '63, which I have found before, or possibly a newer silver proof, but it didn't have the proof glare to it like the (2) 90% proof halves I have found did. So I yanked it from the stack and it was a '48S, which is one of the better dates, especially to find in BU.

I'm still missing a lot of the S mint Roosies to complete the set from circulation, and wouldn't you know it the last (3) S mint Roosies I have found were 1948S. Oh well.

Thats a pretty sweet dime, :icon_thumright: I always wonder how coins like that find their way into circulation these days, its not like a kid is robbing daddy's coin collection to buy 1 or 5 cent candy anymore.

Someone must have taken that one out of a collection before putting it in your box. Wow
