Went into the weekend all hyped up because I had 3 boxes of halfs and 2 nickel boxes waiting for me to mine silver from. The results listed below...

Half box #1 - skunk
Half box #2 - skunk
Half box #3 - skunk

Nickel box #1 - skunk
Nickel box #2 - 1 43 war

Makes me feel like this dog in this picture.

The half boxes again for the second week in a row had lots and lots of uncirculated 91, 95, 97's mixed in. Not really sure whats going on unless they are running short on halfs and dumping in some they have held back.

Didnt get a chance to hit banks this morning due having to go into the office to work.

Next week I am headed on a vacation to the panhandle of Florida. Going to hit as many banks as I can for customer rolls. You CRH'ers there have been warned :)

I remember Silver Cop went there and found nothing. No rolls and no coins.

OWww that is bad. Realy bad. If you go to the panhandle call ahead to the banks so you can avoid waisting your time. I think your best bet would be to hit some Casinos down there. Dime and half slots if they have em. Good luck

My experience, though have never called ahead have had tellers tell me stuff like you just missed them someone was here (as little as) 10 minutes ago & got all we had. Chances are what you find by phone day(s) B4 you arrive to get will be gone.

Obediah,
I have gone on tons of road trips and trust me, if they are going to take the coin they will clean them out. Even if you walk in and ask for them. If someone is a collector there at that bank they will go in the back room and pick out silver. I have done it that way too. However I have had great success on my road trips over the last couple of years and it has always served me well to call ahead. That way you can cover more ground. This is a numbers game as you are finding out with all of your boxes. Most tellers I have found are willing to hand over the coin. I can always tell if there is someone there that is a collector when I call because they will ask me if I have an account. They usually don't give two shakes if you have an account. Usually it is someone that wants the silver for themselves that will try and deter you by asking if you have an account. It is their defense. Hahah I love all the ins and outs of this hobbie.

Oops:

So far have had 2 tellers who asked me if had account still give me Halves when told them NO, of course more have not (maybe 10 or so); and one teller told me that it is against Bank policy to help non-customers.
When I do a road trip it is usually only cause am on another mission and hit banks along away; most of my cold calls have been very small finds, 3 have been big[er] one was 419, another 58 and another 27 all rest have been for most part 10 or less with few exceptions and mostly %40's too.

Do appreciate your insights; have asked for other items like dimes, quarters, most time they try to give me Fed rolls, I say no am looking for customer rolls and have so far found NOT 1 silver in them so don't ask oft anymore.

I have found that if a teller asks if you have an account they are to lazy to deal with you. Just the other day when asking for handrolls I was asked if I had an account, and I answered in the affirmative, because I did indeed have one. Had I had said no I would not have gotten any service.
I almost never call first, unless it is a bank out of the way and I know the tellers. I'd rather have them lie to me in person.
