Today I picked up $430.00 in rolled halves from various banks. When I got home to search them,it just kept getting better and better. I had so much fun and EXCITEMENT today it was almost too much, as I experienced a pain in my chest from all of the excitement. I had to calm myself as all I kept saying was oh my God! I had never seen a day like today before. I thought last week was great, the beginning of this week is fantastic.

TODAYS HALVES:

55- 40% silver

7- 1964(90% silver)

2 Walking Liberty (both 1943)

2 Franklin (1952 + 1963)

And two halves that are not released for circulation 2004P and 2005P. I wasn't aware of this until I read about it this past week. So thank you to the member that posted that information.

Also one of the tellers today after I asked for halves and she sold me two rolls asked what else do you collect and I said Eisenhower dollars and she pulled 5 of them and said good I have no place in my coin rack for these. She was happy to get rid of them. So after that happened I started asking for Ikes at the rest of the banks and another teller sold me one roll of Ikes from the bank vault. :o

My totals of halves for the month of January 2006:

154- 40% silver halves

12- 1964 (90% silver) halves

2 Walkers

2 Franklin

2 uncirculated

1- 1981S proof

1 magic(trick) halve

45 Ike dollars

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

And to top it all off, I received the gold pendant from DigEmAll today. Thank you very much DigEmAll for this beautiful pendant! I love it! ;D

Holy crap pw!!!

Your good day would easily be a good month for me! Those walkers and Franklins are the finds of the year so far! And the '04 & '05 are equally impressive. Keep an eye out for 1973 Ikes. They weren't released for circulation either.

My January wasn't bad:

40% halves - 11
Wartime nickels - 6
Ikes - 6

...and lots of holes filled in my Jefferson albums.

Today's $45 in nicks -

1941
1949 (2)
1951 (keeper!)
1952D
1953S (keeper!)
1954D
1956D
1957D
1958D

Hi Immy,

I just about jumped out of my skin when I saw the Walkers and Franklins. :o There was one Walker and one Franklin in one roll, and then I found the same in another roll. It was weird in a good way,but seriously I did have chest pains as I found them. I guess I haven't had much excitement lately. LOL :P

Had I know about the halves that were not released and the ones without the initials "FG" on the back, I would have been looking for them the entire month. I'll definitely keep my eyes open for any 1973 IKES, I don't have any yet. Thanks for all of the tips, I appreciate it very much. :)

Yep, you have had a good January as well, and the wartime nickle still escapes me-congratulations to you! :) I have been neglecting my nickle and penny searching. I still have a lot more spaces to fill in my nickle book, and limited spaces in my penny books.

I don't know about the 2004P and 2005P not being released for circulation. I have found at least two dozen of each, I dont even bother keeping them. Congrats on the silver!!!!!!!!! HH

It seems that the red book could be wrong here, as I find those dates all the time when searching, and many of them look WELL circulated, not like they just happened to recently end up at the bank from some kid or wife dropping them off.

I think it's only wrong with the 2001P. I've read many times in COIN WORLD that everything from 2002 to date is released only in mint sets. Even some ads tout this. I wish I found these as regularly as you Brian!
