Searched 3,200 nickels this w/e. Came up with 19 keepers, the best are listed below.

1927p buff
no date buff (both in same roll!!)
1943p war Nick-uncirculated!
1951p
1958d au
1941s x2

in just over one month of searching, I have 42 of the 66 dates/mm's for 1938 to 1961. Rarest found so far is the 55p (8.3mil), most common NOT found (not including war nix) is a 48d (44.7mil). - go figure!!

You did better than me. I searched $80, and all I had to show for it was a war nickel and acouple pre-1960 Jeffersons.

Want to trade for the 1948D?

I have 14 of them. I have 3 Whitman books, so need 3 of each, and the rest are extras. So I have some 1948D's if you want to trade.

I need a 1949S, if you have one. Yeah, in MS-60 the 1949S is worth $1.75 and the 1948D is only worth $1.60, but I figure both of ours are in condition to be worth about ... $0.06 each. LOL. So no biggie. Or if you want a lower valued one to send to me, I also need a 1955. That's only valued at $0.75 in MS-60, well below the $1.60 of the 1948D, but again - in the circulated conditions of these coins, probably abot $0.06 each anyway. The stamp will cost each of us more than the coin. LOL. But we'd get one we are each missing. :-)

If you'd want to trade, or have either of those two, I'd do a trade for the 1948D you want. Just swap coins.

Let me know. :-)
