So yesterday I got some nickels from the banks. First try on nickels. One box and one bag. $100 each. I've went though the box so far. Here is what I found.

2009dx13
2009S
1959d
1959x2
1957dx2
1956dx2
1955dx2
1955
1954d
1952
1947
1946
1946d
1945S
1944P
1941x2
1940
1939
1938s

AND to behold my eyes 1912 V!

Two Canadian 1981 1997

Question is. Are the 2009d nickels worth keeping?

Going to start the bag after lunch.

Congrats on a good 1st box! :icon_thumleft: Check that 1912 for a mintmark, it would be on the reverse at about 7oclock. If so, it's worth more then one without.

you got a 2009s? nice score on the proof! 2 war nickels and a V nickel. I have been skunked on buffalo nickels/war nickels past 3 boxes...

Very good score!!!! I'd get a few more from that same bank if possible!

I would say that is a great box!
I am averaging one Liberty Head Nickel per 120k nickels searched (I have found three so far).
I would hold on to the all 2009 nickels. They have been very hard to come by for me. They probably won't be worth much for a long time, but at least they won't be worth less than a nickel. The proof nickels aren't a very common find either. The '55 and '38S aren't easy to find (especially the '38S).
I have found one '38S, and I have been through 360k nickels. In that time I have found six '55 nickels (I have found several just recently, probably skewing my results a bit.

Nice finds!
