I know this isn't CRH per se, but I hit some garage sales for the first time this weekend and found some cool stuff.

First place I hit some woman tried to sell me some nickel set she bought off the TV with a common date V, dateless buff, a war nick and a regular jefferson for $150. I laughed and walked away.

Finally found a sale that had coins. It was a moving sale and the coins weren't even out. It was in an upper class neighborhood and the guy was selling some real nice stuff, so I figured what the hell and asked if he had any coins. He wasn't a collector, but said he had some that a client had bartered him for legal work many years ago.

He brought out a small suitcase filled with pennies, literally THOUSANDS of them (2135 wheats in all) I also saw some foreign, some pennies in coin flips and roosies and mercs mixed in so I was definitely going to buy. He asked what I thought was a fair price, I said without looking at all the coins anything was a shot in the dark, he asked for $100 but I said I was comfortable with $50. We agreed on $60.

After literally DAYS of sorting through EVERY coin and checking for errors etc. Here are the finds (warning the list is long):

Not a strikeout, but not a homerun either. You paid under 3 cents per wheat, and got a little silver in there too. Lets call it a solid single up the middle and an RBI.

Yeah, not bad. If $60 is gonna hurt you, you probably shouldn't chance it.

cool trade regardless!

Question, does anyone have a list or link to a list of all the "rare" or "valuable" pennies such as DDO's and low mintages etc?

Thx,
Bigheed
