Not a bank but rather a small casino I do not frequent these days (Hey, they took out the Men In Black games) to cash some change, AFTER making sure there were NO dimes or pennies in the pouch (they have had signs up for years saying they don't take them). One bank pouch, maybe *MAYBE* $300 max, more like a couple hundred.

First question: where'd you get these (referring to the coins)

Second question: where are you from, asked twice before I could even answer question #1. I finally gave him my DL when he wasn't satisfied with my less than postal-carrier-perfect answer.

He opens the bag and proceeds to tell me they don't take halves because they can't use them. The mix was nickles, halves and quarters.

I am not a confrontational person by inclination but I *will* be calling the management to clarify this point, and voicing my displeasure. If they tell me no halves then I will gladly inform them that they have seen the last nickle from me they will ever see. No more slot play, no more patronizing the grill for hot wings.

Before anyone thinks I have been abusing this place I have never in over 6 years ever taken so much as a dollar's worth of coin to exchange at the window.

I have never been confrontational with any bank or other business regarding coins. There are too many places for me to frequent, if some place doesn't want me, I go elsewhere.

Having said that, if you like this place, ask to speak to the manager and find out what the policy of the casino is. Yes or no to half dollars, the chance that a low level employee would make up a story ("we don't take halves") is very good.
