I've only been searching dimes with any consistency for about the last 3 months. In that time I've found 5 Merc's & 45 Rosie's which is exactly a 1:9 ratio. But I was really lucky with Merc's late last year and found 4 of the Merc's just in Dec and I've only found one Merc so far this year so I guess my ratio has been sort of settling out lately.

I was searching about 4-5 brinks dime boxes a week but the pickens' have been kind of slim lately so I'm going to focus more on trying to get cwr dimes from now on. Just last week I scored 3 Rosie's from just $205 in cwr dimes which is better than finding 3 keepers in one dime box so I should hopefully be able to increase my keeper to search ratio a little from now on with dimes.

For CRH, I am at exactly a 1:10 ratio. Thats all the silver dimes I have found lifetime. 1 merc and 10 Rosies. Searched an estimated 40 boxes or so. Consider that the merc and 4 Rosies came from one box, and 3 more Rosies came from another, and you'll see that I am the King of skunky dime boxes. ;D Not a title that I wanted.

Now with the metal detector, I'm at a 10:1 ratio the other way at least.

December 2011 - 14 Rosies and 2 Mercs - 1:7
January 2012 - 21 Rosies and 1 Merc - 1:10.5
Feb 2012 (before big score) - 33 Rosies and 1 Merc - 1:33
Feb 2012 (After big score) - 33 Rosies and 201 Mercs - 6:1

Over all. 1:17 before the big score, which is what I think you are really looking for.

All Mercs have been found in CWR's.

All but the big score Mercs have been found from local CRW's as well.

I only search CWR for dimes because when I started dimes it took me 3 boxes ($250) to find 1 1963. Since then I average 1 per $100 searched at least. In total I have found 1 barber (1911), 3 Mercs and 26 rosys.
So I guess mine would be 1:2:26 or .5:1:13 if you include the barber.

Thanks all for the input, as most of us know, location is key, and so is volume. To determine what is average is impossible, but this gives an idea on what could be out there. :icon_sunny:

I am currently at:

4 Mercs: 64 Rosies or
1:16

Also have 7 80% Canadians and a nice 1953 El Savador 25 Centavos 90% that I found today.
