Hi all, I decided to run a thread about what kinds of foreign coins you come across in rolls...
since there are both American and Canadian hunters on here, coins from the US and Canada are not considered "foreign", I am talking Mexican or other continents/islands.

Here's my batch so far this year-
Penny sized coins:
Bahama starfish pennies, too many to count...
Bermuda hog pennies, too many dates,
Barbados cents

Nickel sized coins:
Bermuda fish nickels: 1983, 1996, 1997, 2004
Bahama pineapple nickels: 1998, 2000, 2005
singapore 20 cent pieces: 1986, 1997, 1997
Great Brittain 20p: 2009, 2010
Poland 50 groszy: 1995
Switzerland: 20 rappen 1965
Russia: 1 rouble?? 2009
Italy 5 eurocent, 2002
Turkey 25 kuros 2005
Asian- chinese? 5 - something- no date

Dime sized:
Great brittain 5p: 1990, 1995, 2001, 2007
Panama dime: 2001, 2008, both enders as you can't detect them edge checking
Russia: 2000, 2008 10-something
Moldava- 2005 25 Bani-aluminum
pakistan 2- 1967- aluminum
ecuador- 2000 10c
greece 1966 50-something
trinidad tobago- 1979 cent
east caribbean states- 2007 dime
Hong kong 1987 10c
phillipines- 1993 50 centavos

Quarter sized:
taiwan 5 soimething, no date, edge like an american quarter, twice as thick and more spaced reeded edge

Half dollar sized:
plastic toy money US Half dollar
1988 Jamaica 50c 10-sided
1967 Great brittain large cent
countless magician's coins...

ADD to the list! HH
Buff:thumbsup:

bumping this thread to see what you all have found!

I could take a picture of the bags of foreign coins I have. I don't keep roll finds and coin counter finds separate but I probably am up to 1000 coins. I know it's off topic but the other day I was at a coin counter and got 6 steel cents off of the magnet. That is the most I have found of those at one shot so far. My previous best was 4 of them on one machine.

I've looked them over but haven't identified one yet. Of course, it draws some uncomfortable attention at times too...

only in certain machines are the magnets accessible to the public. in coinstar machines the magnet is internal. back on topic... please share the finds you've gotten in rolls!

Hey folks, thanks for bringing this thread back to life! Hopefully it will keep going. Post all your interesting foreign coin finds in rolls here, whether it is aluminum, copper, brass, steel, zinc, silver, gold, etc.

I recently stumbled across a $50 cent bag that contained 8 Canadian "King George VI" cents, the dates ranged between 1938-1952. The bag also produced 32 wheat pennies, one from 1918 and the other, a less common wheat, from 1920-D. :)

In my penny boxes I have found, Canadian pennies, most with queen but about 5 with king. 1 Bahamas penny, 2 Deutschland penny, 2 panama pennies, and a Hong Kong penny, which I thought was strange because of it's shape, it's not round.

That silver ring made from a british sterling coin sounds really cool, is there a possibility that you could upload a picture? :)
