Fun day in my small hometown this past weekend. Got some fresh donuts from the local grocery store. Best apple fritters I've ever had. Then we stopped at the bank and picked up my first ever order of half dollars (two boxes). I scored six 40% Kennedys and one 90% Kennedy.

I talked to the manager, as we got there right when they opened and they didn't have a whole lot of work to do yet. He told me about the 90 Ikes that have been sitting in the back for years, since they can only ship them in when they have 200. First time I ever found Ikes. Unfortunately, no silver but I'm still checking to see if I have any interesting varieties. I don't think it matters since none of them are in super condition, but it is still good to learn to know what to look for in the future.

Just a quick rundown of the Ikes:

1971D - 7
1972D - 20
1972 - 3 (and can't tell the varieties apart)
1976D - 34
1976 - 2 (and I appear to have both Type I and Type II)
1977D - 18
1977 - 4
1978D - 2

Welcome! see if you can turn the ikea for a profit! it's a nice challenge at least. The type 2's are easy to spot, you can do it with the naked eye. look at the earth on the back, I believe the valuable 1972 type 2 does not have easily visible caribbean islands. you can find some great pictures and descriptions online
