Decided to try for the silver home run.

Silver home run = at least 1 silver nickel, dime, quarter, and half dollar from the same bank in the same trip:

So I picked up 1 box each of nickels, dimes, and quarters and the $200 available in rolled halves.
I also said "Sure, why not" when she asked if I wanted a box of pennies too.

Started off with the quarters figuring that would be the toughest one and in the 4th roll....Silver Single
1 - 1941 <--- My first silver quarter of the year.
Was the only the silver in the box.

Moved on to dimes next. Ended up with my best silver dime box of the year.... Silver Double (half way there)
4 pre-1965 Roosevelt (1948-S, 1951, 1964-D(2))
4 Canadian (1981, 1990, 1992, 1995)

Third, I did the nickels. In the third roll out popped a buffalo (1915) and halfway through the box out popped a war nickel (1945-D)... Silver Triple (only the half dollars left)
19 other pre-1960 jeffersons (1940(3), 1940-D(2), 1941, 1941-S, 1942, 1950, 1951, 1953-D, 1954-D(4), 1956-D, 1957-D, 1958-D, 1959-D)
2 Canadian (1999, 2000)

Note one 1940 and one 1940-D were each at least AU-50.

On to the half dollars..... skunked...(Had to settle for a silver triple the hard way.)
Figured the halves were the easy one and left them for last.

And last but not least the box of pennies produced the following
13 wheat pennies (1941-S (Small Mintmark), 1944, 1944-D, 1945, 1946-D, 1950-D, 1953-D, 1954-D, 1956-D, 1957-D(3), 1958-D)
15 Canadian (1938, 1963(2), 1964(3), 1965, 1971, 1974, 1977, 1981, 1982, 1996, 2002-P, 2004)
1 Proof Lincoln (1987-S) <---- My first proof lincoln cent

Note the 1938 Canadian still has some of the original copper tint to it.

Oh and when I got home I noticed a 2003-L $1 Star note in my wallet.

Overall, very pleased with the wide variety of keepers.

Ha, pretty good GMan. The best I can do is a triple (or hat trick) since I never do dimes. But a few times I've gotten a double (quarters and halves). Grats on your finds!

Yeah, Id say a triple is very good. It is funny that you poped out on the halves. I have never even attempted a box of quarters, knowing silver is so rare. I did once at a casino go through a couple hundered in quarters. no silver of course.

A silver quarter AND a Buf nickel from the same bank stop......most excellent.

Not to mention all the other goodies.

Great way to start the weekend.

I like the 'silver home run' idea - please let us know if you ever get it!

Congrats on the great finds.
