First person to find the new 2014 halves. They ain't usually round circulating this early into the year. It took 6 months for the first 2013 to be found in a roll.
Really? Interesting. Learn something new everyday. Thanks for the info.

That's pretty cool. I found a nice 2013 ender earlier this year but I haven't seen any 2014 coins yet.

I have not found any 2014's yet... I found about 3 rolls of 2013(pretty even mint mark mix), 3 weeks ago in my best silver box!

Very cool!

Too bad they weren't 1914's, that would've been awesome! I guess the mint just wants to keep plenty of coins available for us hunters, eh?
This is the first 2014's I've seen.

2014s are NIFC so there should not be a large quantity to worry about? If anything you could probably sell them as lots on ebay and make a small profit on them.

For clarification, every half dollar minted post-2002 is a NIFC which stands for "not intended for circulation". The mintage on the are very low compared to circulation strike halves (2001 & older). Somebody had to buy these from the United States mint for a premium and somewhere along the way somebody either cashed in a collection or kids spent them for candy or something. I think the mint was selling roll sets (p&d) for $34.95 & $139.95 for bags of $100 worth. I could be wrong about the pricing because I'm typing this over my mobile device but that gives you all a good idea on why it's unusual to see the new 2014 halves already

I haven't even gotten a 2014 penny nickel dime or quarter yet :P

I actually recently bought P&D roll sets from the mint for 2012, 2013 and 2014. They are 32.95 for each set. Finding them in circulation is not normal, they are not released except to collectors who order them from the mint.

I had two boxes from this week with a total of 5 2014's. I also picked up 5 40%'s and 1 90% from these two boxes.

it looks like we both found ours around the same time. I picked these boxes up on Tuesday.
