Almost certainly a plating job, but still curious. It should be 8.1g, so it's probably within uncertainty. Also, do I see hints of the golden color around the "EFFE" in "JEFFERSON"?

I found one of those gold plated half dollars with the gold completely gone. Made the coin very shinny. I know it was plated because it has the 1960 / 1980 stamps on it. I kept it, it's cool looking.
