Didn't notice anything when i watched the movie when it came out. But he flips a 58 quarter and after the gas station clerk wins he tell him not "to put it in his pocket where it will get mixed with the other and become just a coin". In 1980 when the movie takes place that coulda been worth 8-9 bucks, foolish Anton Chigurh!

he was a man on a mission and didnt care. the sonofagun had a suit case, a full suit case, full of cold, hard cash. Plus mexico was still using silver coins at the time (?) so he just had to cross the border, and melt. where do you think the suitcase money came from? it was his coin roll hunting efforts, this is why he was so ticked off when those drug people and then the trailor park guy took it.
