Hey folks, I generally don't post my finds much anymore unless it is something unique or uncommon. Well, today was definitely an uncommon coin. I was going through a dime box and about halfway through popped out this ugly "beauty"... needless to say, I got myself a 10-cent shave! She's a little bent up, but i am glad I was able to gain possession of the 107 year old coin :) This is my second barber dime in roughly 1,000 dime boxes, and lately dimes have been terrible at well under a 1 per box average. Halves have been poor producers as of late also.
Thanks for looking,
HH

Nice find! Been a while now since I found anything really old. Silver is good but, finding a coin that is rare or over 100 years old is what I like the most about CRH.

:coffee2: Barbers are always great to find. Hope you find more. I wonder if it was enough to pay for a shave back in 1907.

shave a haircut was 2 bits. so...a shave could be had for a dime by account of my nursery rhyme logic.

Awesome find! I've never found a barber dime. I would love to find one of those and you have found two. That's great.

I was very surprised to find my second ever barber dime. Whenever I find an old, worn looking silver edge I try to predict whether the coin will be a merc, Roosevelt dime or barber. I was almost certain that this was going to be a barber or at least a very well worn early mercury dime.
My first ever barber coin was a barber dime and it was an ender.
