86s is a proof, and yes that is typical....bicentennials not worth keeping, but to each their own..

Your '86-S is not silver. There is no point in keeping any bicentennials.

I'd say that box was better than average. I averaged about 1 40% per 2 boxes.

So the '86 is still worth keeping. What about the '87's?

Keep all bicentennials. They are going to be worth a ton in the future. In fact, keep everything from 1971 and newer.

Some people chose to keep them, others don't. In circulated condition those coins have little if any value beyond fv so its just a matter of what you like to save and collect.

HH!

Thanks for the sarcasm. Just trying to learn and I can't do that without asking questions.

You can do a lot of reading and research, a lot of the info is already out there.

Reading and research is something I have done a lot of. That is the reason I pulled the coins out that I mentioned.
I really appreciate everyone taking time to answer my questions.

Nice job. I have a proof collection just for the fun of it, and I have four rolls of NIFC 2002-2013 complete sets as well. I started throwing back the NIFC's and any clad proofs that aren't in great shape for a while now. I keep foreign coins just because it seems wrong to purposely try to send them back as us currency.

Good luck with your new hobby.
