Here's a tip for the new hunters out there.

Find out the banks (i.e. branches) at which merchants make their deposits, especially low-price stores, as their transactions are more likely to be cash and coin, not credit card or check. Hunt there. Halves aplenty! Don't make it your dump bank. If said bank has a special line or window for businesses, don't forget to politely ask your teller to check with the business teller when looking for halves. HH!

Good tip!!!!!!!!
A lot of 99cent stores are popping up around here and they are cash only. It will be hard to find out where they make their deposits though.

(if a stranger walked up to you and asked you where do you deposit all your cash would you tell them? ;))

Here's another tip, sad, but true.

People get desperate for their addictions, (Tobacco, liquor) and if you go to some of these stores, quite often you can score some silver on what people just had to sell to support their habits. Little country liquor stores see a lot of old coins.

Sad, but better to get it there before it hits the banks.

If a bank has a business or merchant teller, I always go directly to them and skip the regular lines. At the end of the day the regular tellers probably sell their halves to the merchant teller anyway.

Out here in SoCA most of the liqueur/cig stores in the bad parts of town are owned by Koreans. (but they live in the nice parts of town) I have started going to Korean banks in these better areas and doing pretty good. Always halves and Ikes.

Here is my tip....

Don't eat yellow snow! (especially in WI in april.......)

A guy I know that worked at an off track betting place said there was alot of silver that came though there. You can guess why. And under the same respects.... woudnt casinos be good places to hunt? I got some coin from one casino and got one 40%.

I just ask the guy at the cash register. I don't drink, but I buy stuff if we are entertaining. He told me he gets old coins there a lot.

Too true, I have a sinking suspician that there are a lot of CRH'ers that work at banks. I know because I just got my cousin in to it and he works at a stinkin bank!
