1979 s dollar

today I went to the bank to get my first batch of coins. They didn't have that many 35 dollars worth. So I went to kmart just for sh@ts and giggles They had 191 dollars worth of sac dollars and like 17 dollars out the 191 of halves. Then she says here is this dollar do you want it and of course I said yup. Didn't even look at it till I got home then I looked it up It said it was around 25 to 60 dollars. Is it true Here is a pic but you cant see the s I am bad at this pic thing

There is nothing special about a 1979-S dollar, unless it has a proof finish. Check out the mintages for yourself:

yep, i think they made 1979S anthony's for circulation. unless it has a mirror like finish, its not a proof.

There is a rare variant of the 1979S with a clear S. The mark you have (to the left of the neck) is filled in, it looks almost like a blob. That's the more common version. Keep your eyes out for the clear Ses... they can bring in over $100.
