Found a 1906 beat down, holed Barber dime yesterday in a reject chute. My first silver Barber coin. Also found about 40 foreigns and tokens. In this same chute this year I've found a 1930's Canadian quarter and a nickel 3 cent piece along with hundreds of rejected coins.

Crossed $250K in halves hunted this week as well. Found a single 40%er in 2 boxes. Been real slow lately across all denominations.

Twitch - I hunt down in southern VA. I'm curious what your take away has been for your 250K. Mine has been hit and miss with more misses than hits lately. What is your average weekly search/finds for halves?

My location isn't accurate any longer. I've moved twice since I lived in Richmond. I hunted a total of ~$75,500 worth of halves in Virginia producing a total of 446 silver halves. Never found much in MWR but did well with CWR and teller trays. I maxed out at 4 or 5 boxes a week for the last couple months I was there.

Overall on the $250K I've found 1,495 silver halves. Highlights include a Stone Mountain (found in GA no less), a '82 Washington commemorative, 1 modern 90% proof, 2 1970-D's, 2 1970-S's, 7 total 1976-S 40%ers (6 BU, 1 PF), 2 Canadian silver halves, a blank planchet in a solid date OBW roll and at least 5 solid rolls (2 solid $20 shotgun rolls). In VA I also averaged 0.9 war nics and 0.4 buffalo's per box also with 1.2 silver dimes per box. I'm not the most prolific hunter out there but I get my share of cool finds.

I just got into coin roll hunting. Any pointers?? I only do $1000 at a time of only half dollars so far. I have maybe 4 90s and 39 40s and have looked through $10000 total I bet. How do you find the 90s? How do you find the solid rolls?? That would be a dream. Should I search in other denomination coins too

Try all denominations and see which one you like best. They all have there advantages and disadvantages.
