Managed to pick up two boxes of halves yesterday before the banks closed for NYE. Searched one box yesterday, which gave up some silver and counted towards my 2016 silver total.

Searched the second box today, which gave up seven 40%ers:

1966 x 2
1967 x 3
1968D x 2

Not a bad way to kick off the new year!

Picked up two boxes of halves yesterday, one of which was a skunk.

The other box had a 40% ender, which turned out to be the only silver in the box: 1969D.

Picked up two boxes of halves yesterday, both of which gave up silver.

The first box gave up six keepers, one 90%er and five 40%ers:

The second box gave up two 40%ers:

1967

From the two boxes of halves I snagged four 40%ers:

The CWR in dimes gave up three keepers, two Mercs and a Roosie:

Think I might jump back into dimes full-time again.

Hey MM, just checkin in, my boxes have been terrible these last few weeks......last 2 weeks (28 boxes each week) have givin up 7 40's....uhg. Keep stackin it man. HH, Maverick.

This year, I've been keeping track of how many boxes of halves I've been picking up and searching per week as well as how much in loose halves, CWR, and MWR.

So far, I've searched only 58 boxes of halves; for an average of 4.14 boxes per week.

I've gone through $2,969.50 in loose/CWR/MWR halves for an average of $212.10 per week.

My volume is waaaay below what it was at this time last year. Mainly due to the TD Bank and PNC coin machine debacle, the one branch of TD not accepting bag dumps anymore, as well as the one branch of PNC allowing me to dump bags for a few weeks then completely backtracking on that.

First-quarter totals to be posted soon.

Interest rates are expected to rise. Banks will start getting squeezed again like in the 1970s and early 80s. They ALL will want to start cutting costs.

Buying boxes of coins costs $$$. Then, shipping out loose coins costs them $$$. Coin hunting costs the banks money. It's just a matter of time before ALL the banks limit coin dumping.

The good ole days are almost over.

I remember banks charging extra to buy coins in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Pennies were the most commonly surcharged, but nickels and quarters were too.

Picked up a box of halves + $250 in MWR of halves yesterday, skunked on the box and shorted $0.25. Haha. There was a quarter in one roll in place of a half.

The $250 in MWR gave up two silvers, though. One 90%er and one 40%er:

Coming off of a month-long skunk streak. Ugh. Lost count of the number of boxes, definitely 40+.

I was seriously considering taking a break, but picked up two boxes of halves on Saturday anyway.

First box was a skunk, and the other gave up two 40%ers:
