Got another 4 bags today, not a bad haul. 7 1939P, 3 1950P, 3 1951P, and a 1944D War nickel. Also found this one:

Kinda neat I think. For someone to have taken the time to grind that down...

Also found this:

My most off-centered strike yet! Not sure why, but always wanted to find one of these!

And, the crown jewel of the finds:

LOVE finding these, had been over a month since my last. Looked into the bag and just saw him staring up at me, luckily I didn't see the date. Always save wheats or buffaloes til the end and then look, something to look forward to. Averaging one every 20,285 nickels so far, though War nickels are 1 in every 3,227. Sadly, I now have more Buffalo nickels than Indian Head Pennies...will attempt to rectify that over the weekend. Happy hunting everyone!

Nice finds! Buffalo's are my favorite. I've been searching nickels as well. I find about 1 buffalo and 1 war nickel in each box of 2000 nickels.

Nice finds! The first coin is a variation of the "hobo nickel". :icon_thumleft:

Great finds!

Is there a reason you can't get the entire coin in the picture? Dying to know if that Buff has a mintmark, since you didn't mention the date in your remarks.

The microscope/camera I have doesn't go high enough to fit the entire nickel in. I'm working on figuring out a rig that'd allow it to. Its a P

I think I've only ever seen tell of one other hobo nickel find.
I'm not really wow'ed by the subject matter (nor the workmanship really) of yours, but it's a cool find ntl.

Yeah, it definitely looks pretty Crap, but still kinda neat to find a "hobo" nickel...
