Oldest coin I have found in circulation. It was found in a machine wrapped roll. very stoked!

I want to know how many of you find these in circulation still.

Nice find! I went through $100 of cents per week from January-April and found six which is higher than normal i would say. Wish I had time to search cents again.

Indian Head Cents are always fun to find. So far this year, I've found 4 (1905, 1906, 1906, 1908). I found my first one in 1979. It was a 1901, like yours. Since then, I've found at least 100. I stopped counting at 40 and that was in the early 90's. My oldest is 1865. I've also found 2 Civil War Tokens.
I used to average about 2 a year (I go through $50 in cents each week), but the last few years it's been closer to 4 or 5. I got 6 last year.

Keep looking, you'll find more!

Great find man! I've been fortunate enough to pull 6 of them this year, all in my first 140,000 cents though. The last 500,000 have yielded none...

Curious how there was 56 in a 50 cent roll... Great find though, definitely jealous!

Easy answer, if the previous owner was a collector, and that's all the IH he had, put them all in one roll, he passes away, next family member assumes a full roll and dumps it at the bank.

They scrunched 56 in one roll. One of our best finds ever. We have been coin roll hunting for 11 years.

Keep on Searching

Not only as you mention, but if there is some worn ones, then their thickness will be less. I sold a pre-1900 IHC roll on eBay. Buyer first complained as the roll wasn't the same size as a typical cent roll. Told him to count it again. The listing was for 50 pre-1900 IHC, and I sent him 50 pre-1900 IHC.

...And that is why I will have whoever inherits my treasures sign an oath to never throw it away or sell it!:icon_thumright:

Lucas: I'm afraid that that is exactly what my wife is going to do when I KICK THE BUCKET, or in this case, kick the silver.
