My cousin is a Jesuit Brother. About a month ago he had to go to Canada to help wrap up the the affairs of an older Jesuit Brother who lived in a a a small town who had passed away. While they were going through his belonging he came across 2 jars of US coins. He was told that when ever the old Jesuit Brother found a US coin in his change he would toss it into one of the jars. He had been doing this for over 50 years. The Jesuit Brother who passed away had no heirs. So his belongings were given away. My cousin new I collected coins and he saved the to jars of coins for me. One had new coins the other older.

So these were really "unsearched" older US coins

The new jar was mostly clad. It did contain:
1 rosie 1964, on Canadian dime 1940, 2 common wheats, 1 King George VI, 1937, and one King George V 1928. Then about $15 US clad various coins

The older jar
was more fun.
No coins were newer than 1959.
170 common wheats
22 pre 1939 wheats
1 Indian head 1903
4 US dimes rosies 1963, 1950, 1961, 1951
1 Canadian King George dime 1944
Oldest wheats 1919 s, 1919 x2, 1927 d

It was defiantly fun to search these coins. The trill of the hunt. It is not to often you come across some truly unsearched coins. I once bought a roll of older cents from a bank that the newest coin was 1960 or so.

We got a few nice ones for the stack. We needed the 1928 King George V (mintage 9,144,860) and the 1937 King George VI (mintage 10,040,231) for our books.

Keep on Searching
