Nice condition of coin, would grade it F - VF.

Honestly, it looks like crud in the G and the rim appears to have taken a hit.

only crud is the photos-- gray dreary day--- G is filled & D is tiny CUD. if sun shows will reshoot. looks real thing at 40X mag

better shot in daylight. note the lump enclosing gap in G and full copper leg on left side of D to the rim. not a "rim hit"

Nice condition of coin, would grade it F - VF.

details of the coat, hair, ear, jaw, chin, fields, rim, seeds, stalk tips, red/brown color, original mint luster, and all devices are minimum AU---- lived in a jar for many years ---- then got adopted by Loomis to be boxed and sent to NY

PEA: look carefully at the Wheat Ears on the left side, half way down, a few of them are worn down into each other, takes it out of AU class, maybe VF the best.

I'm not doubting anything. I know nothing about coins as a collector. I just a simple detector guy that loves to dig holes in the ground.:laughing7:

This coin would never grade at AU. Just look at the wear on the obverse. It is higher than VF but definitely lower than AU. I would place the grade at EF.

I'd like to hear Enamel7's assessment of the grade, since he's a serious Numismatist as well.
