It is a large date. Honestly, you're not going to find a 1982D small date copper. Ok to look, but you stand a better chance of hitting the lottery 3 times in a row!

If you do a Google search, "1982 Lincoln cent large date vs. small date" you will see some good comparison images. You'll be surprised how easy it is to tell the difference one you have some side by side images to compare.

The "2" is unfortunately the wrong shape. The "2" in the small date is more curved:

That's the first tell; your final tell will be the weight. The small date copper version will weigh approximately 3.1g, where the common zinc will be approximately 2.5g.

I just went through this with one of mine two days ago; Mine has the proper #2, but the weight is off.
