I do 1 or 2 boxes per month looking for wheats. I put the coppers aside to be rolled and boxed up. Why not. It costs almost nothing and maybe in the future copper will really jump up. I also think the cent may dissapear from circulation sometime after the '09 anniversery. If it does I think the ban on melting would fall as well.

$50.00 face in pre 1982 pennies sold for $122.50 on ebay a few days ago, plus the buyer paid shipping. Here are links to completed listings of $25 and $50 face in the last few weeks. You can send 5,000 pennies for less than $10 through the USPS:

Some go for less, just watch when and how you list to be successful. These are the more successful listings.

It surprised me to. I might have to go through rolls pennies instead of halves. I was looking at bigger lots of cents because I just bought 25,000 unsearched wheat cents and have been going through them. I will be putting them into lots and selling them when I am done. Me and my son have gone through 15,000 so far to separate out the steel and pre 1940's. 1 in 10 have fit into the latter category. We have found about 15 indians and a silver dime. No high value coins, but an '09 ans several in the $5 range. I will post a full report when we are done. It will be a while if I check for all the d over s and so forth

COOL.

If they are bidding $121 for $50 of copper pennies now, give it a year or two and that will be even higher.

Witht he new sorter machine I hope to get this week, I might be able to crank out a fair amount of coppers. :-) And I'll keep all the wheats and IHs I find. :-) If I can sell some pre 1982 for this though I can pay off the nahine pretty darn quick. :-)
