On the white whale thread, I mentioned hoping for a nickel dump. Got one!! 5 bags of nickels, 4 of them yielded 10 keeper dates and 1 1943p.

The other bag:

20190723_211032.jpg 20190723_211047.jpg

27 keeper dates. 1 proof. 155 war nickels (4 1942, 55 1943, 8 1944, 48 1945) annnnnnd 79 buffaloes!!!!!!
Most seemed to be no dates, a few 37 and 35s, haven't checked them all just yet. Great night, and hoping to catch the rest tomorrow. Maybe a liberty. Or hopefully and Indian burial ground in the cents ;-)

Happy hunting everyone!

Great work - thatā€™s a huge score. Do me a favor and DONā€™T tell me how many of the ā€˜43ā€™s are D marked.

Iā€™ve had 1 good nickel score, 172 buffaloā€™s nearly all dated and many better dates (23-S, 31-S). Have never found more than 5 war nickels at a time.

Geez Louise! :notworthy:

Almost two rolls worth of buffies. I'd be over the moon.

Will you invest in some Nic-A-Date now? Pretty puhleeze?? I must know what the dates are.

my best ever box was 44 war nics.... never to be repeated... now 1 per box is the norm... Buffs & "V"'s are invisible--- they must be cloaked--- cause I ain't seein' 'em :BangHead:

And the Final Breakdown is:

1975S Proof
1942 War Nickels: 4P
1943 War Nickels: 53P, 2S
1944 War Nickels: 7P, 1D
1945 War Nickels: 25S, 23P

P Buffaloes:
1920-8
1923-5
1925-5
1926-4
1927-4
1928-5
1929-8
1935-12 (1D)
1936-5 (1D)
1937-17 (2D)
1 no date

I think these were nic-a-dated, as a lot of the dates had a darker color to them. Guessing it was a cull of someone's collection, gladly take it! Sadly, no more nickels available today, but 8 bags of cents for this week, hopefully whoever this was didn't just collect nickels! Happy Hunting Everyone!!!

Thatā€™s awesome!
I canā€™t remember the last time I saw a significant quantity of war nicks or buffs found on this site. Congrats!
