From April 9 08. I ended up reading too many posts here and wound up with some cash I could spare for a couple days, time to hit the banks. I asked around for halves, but probably not asking the right way, turning down a few halves here and there cuz I'm looking for bulk. Anyway, I grabbed $750 in dimes and $750 in halves. I scored 10 silver dimes, 1 was a Canadian 80%, and a 1905-o Barber dime! The halves turned up 17 40%. That first find is very cool. I'm hooked now.

Need some help getting that hook out of your lip.......just kidding.

Hey, that Barber dime is an excellent find. You don't see many of those being found everyday. Congrats on the dime and the silver halves. Good luck and keep plugging........

Pssst, Pssssst.......just a hint to you......don't turn down any halves. Remember, if they aren't keepers....you can dump them and get your money back......can't lose.......leave no stone unturned.

Take her advice... I've picked up a 1.00 here or 1.50 there and there have been times one was a 1964.

I got my 70D out of a teller's drawer. She only had a couple bucks worth. One teller had $3 worth so I bought them. One was a Ben. Do not turn down ANY halves! :violent1:

Ditto on this. One of my first CRH cold calls I got 3 half dollars at one bank 1) 1970d 1) 1967 & 1) 1985s proof. LOL I still remember her saying and all "I have are 3 half dollars" Which of course the responce is........................"I'll take them".

So is the 1905-O the normal "O" or the "Microscopic O" variety?

I'm having very little luck online telling the difference. I think it is the normal O variety.
