Picked up 3 boxes of pennies from the bank today with pretty good results.

Box 1

12 Wheats: 1936, 1945, 1946, 1946 D, 1950 S, 1953 D, 1955D, 1957 D, 1958 D (3)

8 Canadian: 1951, 1961, 1974, 1979, 1981, 1983, 1999, 2004

Other: 2001 20 Centavos

Box 2

11 Wheats: 1940, 1945, 1946 D, 1948 D, 1951 D, 1954 D, 1956, 1956 D, 1957 D, 1958 D (2)

4 Canadian: 1960, 1967, 1970, 1992

Box 3

10 Wheats: 1911, 1945, 1947 D (2), 1948, 1951 D (2), 1952 D, 1955 D, 1956 D

4 Canadian: 1970, 1974, 1980, 1986

It had been a while since I found either a lincoln or canadian that I'd been missing. The 1911 is now the earliest lincoln and second earliest ever that I've found.

Quick question for everyone. Does anyone know where I can find a coin folder for canadian cents? Right now I'm using a blank lincoln folder and they don't fit all that well and I have no idea what varieties of each year there are.

Grats on your wheatie-peaties

do you keep the copper ones?

As far as folder for candian coins?... You are best off making your own... those canadians don't know a darn thing about coins... they put animals and leaves and junk on all their coin like they are paying homage to some pagan god... the last thing they would EVER do is make a folder to keep the coinage in... they only make coins so that they can throw them in wishing wells or melt them in effigy or...something.

I have been setting aside the coppers. I've been watching a couple auctions on ebay to see if people actually buy them. If there isn't any real interest I'll most likely toss them back into circulation. Besides the wheats and canadians I only set aside the coppers that are in very good condition. If I'm stuck using my blank lincoln folder are there any sites that have canadian penny varieties listed? Google isn't yielding much in the way of info on them.

On a serious note... the market for canadian shizzle is much smaller than OUR shizzle, so don't even bother with canadian books...

Just melt the old canadian down and sell it as copper and throw the new canadian (1997 and up) into US rolls.

Thanks a ton Immy! It was just a matter of time before I ended up tearing the blank lincoln book I was using, the canadians just didn't want to fit in there very well. The local coin shop had a few of the older ones but they were all partially filled and he wouldn't sell just the folder.

No prob!

I bought some blank ones last year and had the same problem. But some I bought back in the 80s fit the Canadian pennies just fine. The nickel and dime blank books fit Canadians okay.
