I started CRH'ing pennies in August '07. Today I reached the 100,000 penny mark. All by hand- no machines for me.
My totals-- (Copper totals include copper 1982's- all lovingly weighed one at a time.)
The mix was about half & half between customer rolls and "fed rolls".

Total copper 21,997 or 22%
wheats 244 (156 from boxes, 88 from customer rolls)
Indian Heads 2
Dimes 17
nickels 1
panama cent 2
bahama cent 4
2 cent euro 2
10 cent euro 1
1950 one pfennig 1
copper canadian pennies 96 (counted in above copper totals)

Now off to start my next 100,000. I'm going to keep even better records this time.

Nice work. Anything above 20% copper for that amount of pennies is good.

And nice record keeping... nice to compare others numbers to my own.

2 IH in that amount is great to. There are guys over on realcent the penny hoarding board that have searched way more and not found any IH's. I lucked up and found mine in the first 200 dollars searched lol

Congrats those numbers look great.

Congratulations. I'm at 1.2 million cents for the year and only have 4 indians. Also, 8,591 Wheat Cents. I don't keep track of copper.

Nice to see some other cent hand searchers out there. Once I get through 50,000 I'll post up some results. I haven't found an IHC yet, but I'm getting nice wheatie numbers every box.

Nice job dp! Keep up the good work, and keep us posted of your totals.. Since you are checking these by hand (like I do) have you run across any good errors(varieties)?? I have found that I have more value in error cents than in wheats or copper combined.. It Pays to look!!! Good luck and HH,, Gpurs...

I don't actively search for errors. I do look for obvious errors such as misstrikes & have found a few.
I've found a few counter strikes as well- such as 2 kennedy face.

I plan on searching the copper ones a little closer someday for errors.

Not just the copper ones dp! There are some nice errors to be found on the 83(rev), 84(ob), 97(double ear), 95(ob), even the 2006 with a little extra ear lobe ;D.. Now is a good time to snag some of these coins while they are still in good shape! Good luck to you !! Gpurs...
