Winter goals(feel free to add your own)

With the first few days of fall behind us and the weather getting colder at nights here in the mountians I got to thinking that I will be doing alot more hunting in the coming months. Now while i say winter goals these are more or less a goal from now until the end of the year for me.

In addition to uping my penny searching I am going to search way more nickels. I am also going to start searching halves for the first time. I dont plan to order boxes but to hit every bank in every small town around here. I can see alot of mini road trips for the winter and there are alot of small towns in remote areas so i may just get some luck.

Penny goals:

Wheats: 300
Indians: 1
Canadian Cu: 100

Nickel goals:

Pre60: 400
Silver: 40
Buffalo: 3
Can Ni: 40

Half goals:

Walkers: 1
Bens: 1
Kennedy 90%: 10
Kennedy 40%: 50




Some of these goals may be high or low I just thought them up as i sat here lol But they are soemthign to shoot for and will hopefully help motivate me to keep better track of my finds lol

Now for "winter" goals... what is the time period for that? It only just became fall... does fall hunting count towards "winter"?

LOL yeah Dave I use winter pretty broadly lol. Im stating my goals from now until first of the year. So they arent really winter goals lol. I guess its just a personal choice for the time frame in the goals you want. No need to put many restrictions on it lol

Well I just started the other day, and its safe to say that Im hooked!!! As for goals, I dunno. I am currently searching pennies and nickels. In october I want to get my first dime box and in november I want to get my first half's box. Money is tight right now so I have to wait on the more expensive boxes. But for my goals for up to New Years Eve...

Penny goals:

Wheats: 300

Goals? Not for me. Goals are for work. This is a hobby. No goals for my hobby. If you set goals and don't make them then your hobby becomes frustrating.

Winta - I'm in Maine...we are already shoveling! Not quite but goals -
I'll bite. Doing mostly halves now so:

Pennies - I quit those, got a small locker filled with copper. No more room.
Nickels - Thought I might start those and complete a book.
Dimes - 2 Rolls Rose. 10 Mercury.
Quarters - 1 (never bother unless I stumble on them) Got 4 this year.
Halves - 40 Rolls 40%, 5 Rolls 90%, 8 Bens, 4 Walkers
Dollars - 1 40% Ike, I don't bother with the small dollars.
Silver Certificate - 1 (starting to look at my paper a little closer)

I will need at least one dream hand roll pickup and a few semi-dream boxes to make it. Probably three road trips out of my territory.
