It is actually a German coin.



And I don't think it is made of silver.

hey gang,
It's from West Germany and its a 50 Pfenning or about a quarter when I was there.. Just a common coin... Sorry, it has a silver look, but probably plated like a dime or quarter..

The metal is a copper-nickel alloy: 75% copper, 25% nickel— the same proportions as in current U.S. nickels.
