Hey guys. I was looking through my 2008 Red book...I havnt bought the 2009 yet. Anyways, I notices that the Dates jumped in the Large Cent section. On one page it says 1814 and then on the next page it goes to 1816. My question is where is the 1815 large cent!? Did they ever make one? Is it possible to buy one? I know it probably would cost a fortune, but once I get the money, that is one coin I would like to add to my collection.

None were made. To the best of my recollection the only coins issued with the 1815 date were a quarter, a half dollar and a $5.00 gold coin. Of those 3 if you can find one the quarter is the most affordable.

There are altered date large cents available with the 1815 date. Typically they are made from either an 1813 or an 1845. You can probably find one on eBay for a reasonable sum.
