Re: Graded 2009 Dimes - Business Strike or Satin

No - Really - I'm asking the group - WHY? Anybody know? I know the mintage is very low this year on the Roosevelt dime. But $50 for a ms68 Dime - is it worth it?

All types of BFOs owned. Especially want White's Arrow; White's Oremaster; Exanimo Spartan Little Monster; Garrett contract Little Monster.
The first coins available always draw a high price. Sometimes
its just for bragging rights and other times its out of curiousity.
Wait a few months and those same identical coins will sell for a
lot less money. siegfried schlagrule

It may have to do with mintage numbers being lower for 2009 dimes, supposedly it will be the lowest number minted since the 1950's.

Production figures for the 2009-D dime are lower than usual but still stand at 49,500,000 as of October. Hardly a low number and hardly worth what people are paying. If I were to collect these coins I would certainly wait for the initial hype to die down and most likely save a lot of money.
