Half dollars - clad proofs and NIFC

what do you guys think about clad proofs and nifc halves. say 2002-2009. you can get mint rolls of these for about 75 cents a coin on ebay.

I think its a matter of time before the penny, nickel and probably the half are discontinued.

its very surprising to me that such low mintage coins sell for so little.

i guess you have to have a long time horizon for this sort of play, though.

what are your thoughts?

The problem is that there is no shortage of supply as every Tom, Dick and Harry has set aside rolls. I believe that there is potential as a short set of NIFC halves, but the potential won't be realized for at least 30 years.

Supply, demand, and sleepers. If, all of the sudden, people wanted a bunch of NIFC and clad proofs, the price might shoot up. And, maybe clad proofs and NIFC's are a sleeping giant, just waiting to skyrocket someday when a market develops.
