1964 was the last year for 90% silver coins (Halves, Quarters, Dimes), they made 40% Halves from 1965-1970, and there were 35% Silver Nickels during WW2 (1942-1945). Hope this helps. Happy Hunting

and on top of the previous info they still make silver in proof sets and commemoratives. 1964 is really the end of silvers reign.

*40 percent halves stopped in 1969. 1970 - present they're copper-nickel clad and worth face value.

Actually the 1970 halves are 40% silver, and were only issued in Mint sets. Starting in 1971 they were the copper-nickel clad
