Hello,
I was looking at my nondug wheats today that I collected through the years and notice this 1955 which is missing the "In God" and the "ib"in Liberty on the front, on the back the wheat stalk on the left is flat/no details. The pictures are a little blurry but I see no signs of it being doubled died. My question is if this is a error is it a common one for this year and if so any value ? Thanks in advance !

Primary Interest:
Other
1950s wheat cents were very prone to filled/broken dies and other quality issues that resulted in a lot of minor errors and a few major ones (like the double die). Not too many specialize in these, so the value is not very much more than any other wheaties.

I didn't think it would have much value, thank you for the info John.

Hi TommNJ, That error appears to be the result of a grease filled die. The rest of the obverse looks nicely struck. The reverse looks like it is missing the detail in the wheat stalks probably also from grease. Nice find!
