1988D RDV-006 "Discovery Piece" !!

I started coin roll hunting a few months ago to put together some Harris folders for my 8 year old Granson AJ. Naturally, looking for errors and varieties followed soon after. I purchased a copy of "Strike it Rich With Pocket Change" to help me identify different errors and such. Well, a few weeks ago I hit the jackpot! I found the 8th die variety of a 1988D penny with a 1989 reverse. To date, it has been verified by Billy Crawford, and is presently in John Wexler's hands to be added to his listings. Once I have it back it goes out to get graded and slabbed. Here is a link to Billy's current listings of these die varieties:

My example is about 3/4 of the way down the page # 1988-D CTRD-008

Just goes to show you that looking through a several thousand pennies a week sometimes pays off! Good luck hunting! Bill
