    To me it looks like a 1917. Can't see any mintmark but that doesn't mean there isn't one there.

    I think you nailed it! I compared it to my 1928 wheat I have, and the slanted line of the third number looked like the slanted line in a 2 on a wheat cent.

    Too much space between the nine and seven to be a one. Looks like a 2 to me also.

    I think this is solved as a 1927 wheat. It is going in my book as that one and I will put a green check next to this post.
