Took my 40% to the LCS today to trade for gold. They sell foreign gold at spot. Got this 1911 sovereign. They paid $87 per roll for the 40 % coins which is about what I would net from feeBay.

I haven't used CL before but I may try that in the future. I am satisfied overall with not having to pay a premium on the gold.

What is the mintmark on that? The mintmark (if any) will be found on the reverse in the ground where St. George is 1911csovereignmillededgegoldrev400.jpg

No mintmark means your coin was minted in London, a C means it was minted in Ottawa, Canada, an M means it was minted in Melbourne, an S means it was minted in Sydney and a P means it was minted in Perth (Australia).

If you have a coin with a C you have a more scarce coin with only 257,000 some odd coins minted. While they don't trade at too much of a premium, they do have a very slight premium.

I believe it is a London mintage though I haven't gotten the loupe on it yet. I can't make out any mint mark at this point but the coin has some wear.
