I Have this King George V quarter with no date. About all I know is that it is not a 1911 issue. Are there any ways to identify a date or narrow the possible dates of mintage by die variety? At the very least I would like to know if it is .925 or .800.

This coin was part of my Grandfather's collection. I am not looking to sell it but just trying to get more info. Thanks!

Try to use a good loupe to see if any part of the date can be seen. If not, you would have to do a density test on the silver.

yes, not 1911 and also not 1936....my hunch is 1912 to 1919 as the silver content is .925 , 1920 on is 80%... bigger silver content is going to wear more...

There is no dot below the wreath so that rules out a couple more years, I believe.
