Looks more Greek to me than Roman...


Plenty of Greek coins with Octipi on the reverse, that would be a good starting spot, along with the inscription on the reverse that I can't really make out, but it does indeed look to be Greek.

I'll search a bit for it and post if I find anything useful.

I looking towards a 5th century BC Syracusan bronze coin (an 'onkia' or 'uncia').

Yep, that's what my research on it seems to lead too. Though I can't seem to find a picture that's exactly like the coin pictured.

I've got quite a few Roman and Greek coins. This one doesn't look right to me. A genuine coin would be 2000 + years old. This just doesn't look that old.
