Morgan and Peace dollars are selling for a $4-5 premium each and the silver eagle can bring a couple bucks above melt as well, I think you did well.

Man I wish I could get a morgan or peace with only a $4-5 premium- most around me are like $9-10 above spot

I'd rather get it for face value but I guess if you're buying it then that's cool.

An update to my post where I congratulated you on your good deal:

I was offered a SUPER deal yesterday at a local pawn shop (which was having a sale on their coins by the way...)
$14.00 - for each 90% half
$7.00 - for each 90% quarter
$2.80 - for each 90% dime
$5.50 - for each 40% halves

$39 for normal ASEs
$42 for colorized ASEs
$41 for one that had a "REMEMBER 9/11" sticker on it, because it was "damaged" - and by damaged they didn't mean that it had a sticker over the coin, it was because the sticker was scratched

So, clearly, these good deals are all around! :P

im paying around

$9 for 90% halves
$5 for 90% quarters
I don't know what they charge for junk roosevelts but I pay $3 a piece for barber dimes from the bin

at my lcs

I buy my larger silver coins from a guy at the local gun show, I get peace dollars and ase's for $25 a piece

I've been paying:

50c for 90% halves
50c for 40% halves
25c for 90% quarters
10c for 90% dimes

From my local bank, of course. :)
I'm paying too much for 40s I you ask me - should be less than half than the 90s, right???

alright I checked my coin shop today and checked junk silver prices. at todays price of 20.35 I bought
dimes for 1.62
quarters for 4.07
halves for 8.12
generic rounds for 23.00
and silver eagles for 25.00

and for the junk silver I can choose any design I want they have in the bin for the same rate of 16.25 per $1 face value, for the dimes 1 bought 30 random and got 25 merc and 5 roosies, I got 2 quarters and chose 2 barbers I got 3 halves and got 2 franklins and 1 walker. they never have any bars smaller than 10 ounces so I didn't get an

I would pay those prices if I could cherry pick coins I didn't have and if they were in decent condition.

Those prices are too expensive! I pay about $8.50 for 90 % halfs
$4.25 for quarters
$1.90 for dimes
$2.75 for 40%

Yeah no kidding. People around here have ridiculous prices on their stuff. I just walked out after they told me all that.
