Hmm good question. The most I've spent on junk silver would be around 22 dollars per face value. Currently I'm buying junk at 17 per face.

I bought some for $16 on Friday. I'm sure it will go up this week. I don't know what my cut off point is. 20 face might be it.

Right now 17x (only for Mercs & WLH's and any G or better Barbers)

But if Silver was 50 Dollars an ounce I would maybe pay more.

I wasn't paying 16X face but could quite often.. If I do buy 90% I pay no more than 10% over spot, hard to find sometimes.

Well they went up on their junk silver today. $16.75. I believe spot should be 15.80 × face so I'm happy with only paying .95 over spot since I've been buying it for $16. So in the long run I've paid .20 cents over spot with silver prices $21.85. As long as it goes up I'm good.

I've offered 10-times face (on 90% coins) to several people that had a few, and they were happy with that. I they ever question it, all I say is, " you going to spend your time & gas costs to take these few coins to a local pawn or coin shop and get Melt-20%, I can give it now". With that in mind, they change their mind real quick.
